16-12-2011 Pan Pacific Sonargaon isn't what I would think of as a destination property EXCEPT if you are doing business in the neighborhood or south of Dhaka. The first priority for ANY hotel in Dhaka is location with respect to your daily travels. toss out any other thoughts, because traffic will irritate you more than anything else. The restaurants have different names, but all food is prepared in one location. It only takes a few days to become disenchanted with the food. Service is most attentive when a bill needs to be paid, otherwise don't expect anyone to come around asking if you want additional water/tea/coffee. There are two tiers of rooms and don't expect first tier if you book through any type of agency. Book direct with Pan Pacific for first tier rooms. Options are limited in Dhaka. Be prepared for a grand old lady with her stockings fallen around her ankles and an attitude.
