11-5-2012 Klein plaatsje, weinig winkels maar mooi strand. De weggetjes slingeren, doet en beetje aan zuid frankrijk denken. Mooie Botanische tuinen.

29-6-2010 I came to ventnor everywhere else was cold and grey came over the hill warm sunny wow what a place didnt expect that apparently has best weather a micro climate or something and the views must be the best on island.Great little place and very friendly folks ..Some of the best eating on the island and Has the Very best Chippy at the top of the hill ...Ocean View Fish and chips ...Tiny little chippy but food to die for and in my budget.... A great and unusual place Not to be missed

27-7-2009 Ventnor really does feel from another time. The individual high street shops (with refreshingly friendly staff), some quite unique, steep streets and great beach give this town some individuality. While suffering like many tourist driven towns, Ventnor is still investing in the harbour with the excellent addition of Blueocean Quay, home of Goodman's Bistro. New toilet facilities and a revamped paddling pool make this a great spot to admire the view and entertain the kids. Pub food is hit or miss, but the Spyglass Inn deserves special mention for the location - you couldn't get any closer to the sea without getting wet! More variety in the town centre.
There are the fabulous Botanic Gardens, which even my four and six year old loved. The mostly sandy beach is a managable size (a good thing if trying to keep an eye on the kids) with beach huts and deck chairs for hire. Plenty of ice cream and bucket and spade shops too. I like it so much I bought a holiday home there!

27-8-2006 Het is een gezellig stadje. Rond het strand is er wel redelijk wat vertier, maar het is een stuk rustiger en minder toeristisch dan de andere grotere plaatsen op de oostkant van het eiland.
