4-9-2011 Would highly recommend these lodges we stoipped in a nordic lodge which was really comfortable and had everything we needed.The lodge was really clean my wife remarked on how clean all the surfaces were she is very particular about checking them.

The utensils were also exceptionally clean has was the bathroom the beds were comfortable and we woke to the sound of birds and nothing else great relaxation.

The pub opens at 7 and all the locals are really friendly and the landlord David really welcoming and full of knowledge of the area.

Although you need to drive to visit anywhere the location is perfect for going in any direction we would highly recommend theses lodges

17-7-2011 Setting ok although in a dip so no view from balcony. Location - miles from anywhere and no shop on site. Kitchen well equipped. Lodge could do with updating. In need of a full length mirror and lighting very poor in all areas making it rather oppresive. Luckily we didn't spend too much time in the lodge. As mentioned in a previous review in 2009 - our Lodge (A10) could do with a good spring clean - windows grubby inside and out, skirting boards - never been touched. Rather smelly and some disinfectant wouldn't go amiss. The double bedroom stank of dog and urine. Found a dried up old banana skin under the bed!! So glad I took my own bed linen as what was there looked uninviting!! Claimes to be dog friendly- where are the poo bins and on-site pub does not allow dogs!!! Who uses this pub? Stupid! Trimming the hedge around A10 would have meant we could have enjoyed a little of the sun. Could have been great but not quite!!

18-10-2009 We picked Eastcott for its rural location and at a time when we knew children would be at school,(no screaming, shouting and playing football morning noon and night) we were lucky (not a child in sight). We booked a Canadian lodge (2 bed rooms),because the double room was very small, we elected to use the twin bedded room and unfortunately one of the bed was very uncomfortable (springs coming through the mattress (lodge no 3).
The lodge was well equipped, new tv (Needs tuning) good chairs, dinning table etc,the lodge was clean although a good SPRING clean would not go amiss.
The site is very dog friendly (most people staying there had a dog) with a large exercise area, but the stange thing is the pub which being right next door to the site does not allow dogs (most of us staying there would have used it but you cannot leave your dog unattended in the lodges).
The fishing lake is a real challenge, it seems to be full of quallity fish but catching them is a different matter

6-9-2009 Een leuk huis op een rustige plek! Uitgebreid inventaris. Visvijver achter het huis.
's avonds gezellig bij David een borreltje drinken in de plaatselijke pub met locals!
Eekhoorns, buizerds in omgeving.
Je rijdt echt de binnenlanden in om er te komen (single road), en dus ook om uitstapjes te maken! Half uur naar het strand. Mooie omgeving, veel te doen en te zien. King Arthur is toeristisch maar wel mooie omgeving, Bodmin Moor is geweldig, body boarden bij Carckington Haven. Ook hier kun je mooie routes oppakken van het South West Coast Path.
Een erg leuke plek.

4-8-2008 Leuke, ruime huisjes. Volledig ingericht. Visvijver achter het huis. Eekhoorntjes. Voor wat bedrijvigheid een gezellige pub op loopafstand waar ook de locals komen. Qua ligging is het wel even met de auto rijden voor je ergens bent, eigenlijk enige nadeel. Leuk/ klein speeltuintje + trapveld voor de kinderen.
