Bourganeuf is a great place for the discerning traveller, set in an area of beautiful countryside and forests it has a beautiful castle and church in the central square area, surrounded by cafes, shops and bars - but not too many, the Mezzanine Cafe and restaurant is a must with excellent food, coffee and ambiance! The Wednesday market is fantastic in the summer and Bourganeuf has the usual amenities needed, large super market, tourist office and good restaurants. It is very close to other cities and towns like Limoges, Gueret, Aubusson and many more. The 'Lac de Vassiviere' is astounding with boats, water sports, camping, beaches, walking, cycling and cafe and restaurant. There are also many chateaus, a wolf park, a maze,and numerous cafes, markets and bars and restaurants in other villages and towns close by.
